- Proper fitting soccer cleats. Wearing the right cleat will support your foot decrease your risk for a foot injury occurring during a game. To add extra cushioning and support, use insoles.
- Warm up. Always take time before a soccer game to stretch and slowly jog in order to warm up your foot muscles so they are flexible and loose.
- Check the field. It can be easy to miss a small hole or uneven ground on a soccer field when you’re in the game, but a simple trip from it can result in an ankle sprain. Make sure the playing field is level and the grass is cut short to prevent any slip-ups from happening.
